A statement from Dean Simon on the announcement of the death of Pope Francis

On behalf of the cathedral community I offer my condolences to our sisters and brothers around the world who will be mourning the death of Pope Francis.

 Pope Francis gave his entire life to God and had a committed heart for the poor, the marginalised, for refugees and for creation.

 May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
