Ways to support your community during coronavirus
The outpouring of human kindness and willingness to help individuals and communities during this time has been evident since the start of the Covid-19 crisis. The list below has been compiled to signpost anyone wishing to find ways to more actively help their communities to organisations that are coordinating that support.
Volunteer Cornwall
Volunteer Cornwall has set up a dedicated Coronavirus Response Team comprising volunteers from across the county to assist others in the community during the crisis. Those needing help also contact Volunteer Cornwall to request support and are matched with volunteers in their area.

NHS Volunteer Responders
NHS Volunteer Responders has been set up to establish an ‘army’ of volunteers to support the 1.5m people across the UK most at risk from the COVID-19 virus. There are four key volunteer areas: Community Response, Patient Transport, NHS Transport and Check-in and Chat.

St Petrocs, Truro
St Petrocs is working hard to support the homeless through the Coronavirus crisis. They are seeking donations of hand sanitiser and clean towels

Foodbanks
The impact of the Coronavirus on the economy and employment means that the demand for help from Foodbanks is increasing. Supermarkets all have local Foodbank collection baskets in-store. Transformation Cornwall has collated information from 12 Foodbanks across Cornwall - this includes information on how to contact and donate to those Foodbanks. Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust Charity
‘Kind Coffee’ a campaign to allow the people of Cornwall to buy a coffee for the NHS staff who will be coping in very challenging circumstances in the coming weeks.

British Red Cross
British Red Cross runs a community response volunteer scheme that is called upon in times of emergency. Volunteers are only asked to help in their local community.
