A service of welcome and installation of The Right Reverend David Williams as Bishop of Truro
This service will see the new bishop formally occupy his ‘cathedra’ – his official seat. The Dean of Truro, the Very Revd Simon Robinson, assisted by children will present him with Bishop Benson’s ‘crosier’, or pastoral staff. Truro Cathedral Choir will be singing a specially composed “Jubilate Deo” by Russell Pascoe and a Sanctus and Gloria by Jonathan Dove.
In addition to these formal elements, the service will feature Falmouth Community Gospel choir, worship songs from New Street Church in Falmouth and children from schools across Cornwall. It will offer a joyous and proper Cornish welcome to the new bishop, his wife, Helen and their family as we adventure together to discover the goodness of God and faithfully learn how to live in God’s light.
All are welcome to attend. Doors will open at 09:45.
This service will also be live-streamed on this page and the replay will be available to watch on this page after the service has finished. If you have any problems viewing the live stream or replay, please visit our YouTube channel.
