Bach's St John Passion: St Mary's Singers

On Good Friday, 7th April 1724, J S Bach’s St John Passion was first performed at St Thomas Church in Leipzig and has remained one of the most revered musical settings of the Passion narrative.

St Mary’s Singers will, with kind permission of the cathedral Chapter, recreate the momentous occasion in Truro Cathedral with St Mary’s Orchestra and a star studded collection of soloists. This performance on Good Friday, 18 April 2025 at 18:30 will follow the liturgical settings together with congregational participation in some of the well-known chorales.
