Challenging the Myth: Domestic Violence - Safeguarding Conference

This Safeguarding conference run by Truro Diocese offers an opportunity to hear from survivors and practitioners, and explore how churches can recognise, respond, assist, and encourage those affected by Domestic Abuse. Artwork created by survivors will be displayed, and national and local support organisations will be in attendance.

Keynote speaker on the day is Dr Maryyum Mehmood, Research and Policy Advisor (Spiritual Abuse Lead) to the Domestic Abuse Commissioner of England and Wales.  Her area of specialism covers societally marginalised groups, and she leads on the Office’s work on spiritual or faith-based abuse, ‘honour’-based violence,  harmful practices and international affairs.
